Alaska names waiver and personal care providers owing annual financial reports

Alaska named waiver and personal care providers who must file annual financial reports to the state by eight months after their fiscal year ends, starting Aug. 1, 2026.

Providers named on a state list issued Saturday must file annual financial reports within eight months of the end of their fiscal year. Providers left off the list have no reporting duty for this cycle.

The reports go to the Alaska Department of Health, Office of Rate Review. The Division of Senior and Disabilities Services sent the notice on behalf of the office. "Providers not named on the attached list are not required to submit annual financial reports for this reporting cycle," the notice said. State regulation 7 AAC 145.531(a-h) sets the requirement.

The Aug. 1, 2026, Home and Community Based Waiver and Personal Care Target Provider List is attached to the notice. A set of frequently asked questions about the target provider methodology is attached as well, so providers can check whether they must report. Questions about the 2026 list can be sent to [email protected].

Filing deadlines

Each due date follows the provider's fiscal year-end. A provider whose fiscal year ends June 30 reports by Feb. 28. A provider on the calendar year reports by Aug. 31.

How the list is set

The department publishes a new list every Aug. 1. Within each eligible service category, the office ranks providers by Medicaid units of service from the prior state fiscal year. The ranking runs down the list until 80% of units are represented or five providers are identified. Transportation, care coordination and residential supported living services are excluded from the selection.

Reports go to [email protected].
