Alaska House passed Senate Bill 163 unanimously Wednesday, repealing three inactive and empty state funds including the Public Access Fund and the 2001 Special Olympics World Winter Games Reserve Fund.

The Alaska House passed a bill Wednesday repealing three inactive state funds.

Senate Bill 163 passed 39-0.

The bill repeals the Public Access Fund, the Alaska Temporary Assistance Program Emergency Account and the 2001 Special Olympics World Winter Games Reserve Fund.

The accounts are inactive and empty.

Rep. Carolyn Hall said the bill relied on the Legislature's biannual inactive-funds report. The report identifies accounts that are outdated, duplicative or no longer needed. Legislative Finance, Legislative Legal and affected departments reviewed the funds before repeal.

Rep. Maxine Dibert carried the bill on the House floor. She called it a cleanup bill. She said it was an opportunity to make the statute book smaller.

The bill passed without floor amendments.
