AIDEA, the Alaska Industrial Development and Export Authority, cited two federal mining investments in a Friday release on President Donald Trump's Tuesday visit to Wasilla. It placed them in its passage on the proposed 211-mile Ambler Road, saying "federal support extends beyond permitting."

The federal government closed a $35.6 million equity investment in Trilogy Metals on Sept. 11. The proceeds are committed to Ambler Metals for the Upper Kobuk Mineral Projects in northwestern Alaska.

Nova Minerals holds a $43.4 million federal award for a domestic antimony supply chain tied to its Estelle project.

In Wasilla, Trump said restoring the road's permits was "paving the way to one of the largest mining deposits in the country, and that means jobs." A White House fact sheet projects the road would support 2,730 jobs.

Conservation groups led by the Northern Alaska Environmental Center have sued over federal land actions they say would speed the road's permitting.
