Alaska Legislature: Senate Floor Session - July 27, 2026 10:00am

Will the State Senate of the 34th Alaska Legislature please come to order in the 4th special session for for the purpose of a technical session. Because we are in a technical session, the roll call is waived for today. We will also forego the invocation, the Pledge of Allegiance, and the certification of the journal. There are no guests for introduction, although we welcome you today. Are there messages from the Governor, Madam Secretary?

Executive proclamation stating under the authority of Article 2, Section 9, and Article 3, Section 17, Constitution of the State of Alaska and in the public interest, I call the 34th Legislature of the State of Alaska into its 4th special session in Juneau, Alaska, in the legislative chambers on July 27, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. to consider passage of bills on subjects germane to the following: relating to the taxation of certain natural gas project property and related facilities, relating to local contributions for public school funding, relating to municipal property taxes, relating to the Alaska Gas Line Development Corporation and funds of the Alaska Gas Line Development Corporation, relating to reporting requirements for natural gas pipeline projects, creating the Alaska Affordable Heating Fuel Fund, relating to approval of contracts by the Regulatory Commission of Alaska and inflation adjustment of the maximum price of natural gas, relating to an alternative volumetric tax on natural gas through PUD relating to a municipal impact grant program and fund relating to agreements and a payment relating to a natural gas project and providing for an effective date. Message dated July 16 stating The speaker granted limited powers of free conference to the House conferees considering CS for House Bill 381 Finance amended and Senate CS for CS for House Bill 381 Finance amended Senate Oil and Gas Property Tax Municipal Tax AGDC on the language that is not identical in the House and Senate versions of HB 381. Message dated July 16 stating the House failed to adopt the report of the conference committee with limited powers of free conference considering CS for House Bill 381 Finance Amended and Senate CS for CS for House Bill 381 Finance Amended Senate, thus failing to adopt Conference CS for House Bill 381. Are there reports of special committees? I have no special committee reports this morning, Mr. President. Thank you, Madam Secretary. As we are in a technical session, there are no Senate resolutions for introduction today, no Senate bills for introduction today, no items on today's daily calendar. And no matters of unfinished business that would be in order today.

Are there committee announcements? Obviously not. There are also no other announcements. As we are in a technical session, no special orders would be in order today. With that, the Senate will now stand in adjournment until 11 o'clock AM on Friday, July 31st, 2026.
