Morning, Aaron Sales, 600 Adams Avenue. Uh, I just wanted to give my personal experience, uh, based off of a small bird project, uh, coming out of Houston, Texas. Cattle are a big thing. We have cattle guards everywhere. I just want y'all city council to keep in mind, uh, for this project, I am not here to talk about bears or fences because that's not something I have a ton of experience with, but cattle guards do not stop bears.

Uh, that would be an absolute waste of time and money. I understand the intent behind them as it was written was that the bears then couldn't cross in front of vehicles, uh, because they're big flat padded feet. And because they're great avid climbers, kettlebells do nothing to stop either black or grizzly bears. So just keep that in mind as we go through this. I don't see that being beneficial at all.

They're made specifically for hoofed animals, so moose, I guess, but just be aware. That was all. Thank you.

We have before us a response to a request for proposals that was issued for the landfill and barrier fence at our 17 Mile Landfill. The fence, I think, as everybody here knows and people may be listening, has been required by DEC. And that's why— and also because, uh, we're here because we had a ballot initiative that approved the city, um, taking on this low-interest loan which does have some forgiveness. So, um, I would entertain a motion to, uh, get something on the table so that we can discuss the proposal with city manager.

May I move to direct the city manager negotiate a contract with Cordova Power Sports LLC to provide construction services outlined in RFP PW2602 for a sum not to exceed $870,000? Second. Okay, it's been moved Rainey and seconded Zastro. And so, Council Member Rainey, uh, we just need to get moving on this. We have a safety issue and I think during construction, maybe, uh, I wasn't aware of the cattle guard restriction, but it looks like it'll be electrified cattle guard.

So I don't know if that's enough of a deterrent, um, as an electric fence, as much as an electric fence would be. It's an electrified entrance. So, um, but I'd like to see this move forward. Council Member Zastrum, uh, saying we need to move this forward, and I'm assuming during negotiations with the city manager with this particular contractor that some of the details like that will be discussed. We have actually researched it.

They are used for mirror projection. They have a system where their boss completes the connection. It is electrified. It's built into a system where it's grounded and so that it works. We did our homework on it between Coramouth Power Supply Works and Cavity.

And Aaron and I, we did look into it.

Any other comments about— so this is, uh, just to authorize the city manager to negotiate the contract. The contract will come back to us? No. No. Okay.

Contracts don't come back. In land sales they do, but in this, not in this. Okay.

All right. Question. So we, we move forward, we approve this and, and allow you to start negotiating. What kind of a timeline are we looking at then? We've already worked with Sheridan, so we need to develop the contract, like get the specifics of payment and that kind of stuff.

But we've already talked about and negotiated what it's going to look like. So we've had contracts similar. So we're hoping to have it done by the— wait, what's today? Wednesday? By the end of the week.

By the end of the week. Yeah, we have multiple contracts to go back and we will come and Or should we go and get it signed and then get stuff ordered? That's— we need to get stuff ordered. So construction might start, depends what the lead time is. We do not know what that is right now.

Okay. But we aren't going to start before it gets a little colder regardless. Okay.
