A Palmer jury convicted Michael Melendez, 36, of first-degree murder and two counts of second-degree murder in the 2023 stabbing of Jose Torres Ayala, 21, at a Trapper Creek lodge restaurant. He faces 30 to 99 years at sentencing on Jan. 15, 2027.
