Hello, my name is Dan Whitfield, and I am currently the band director, uh, at Goldenview Middle School. This year marks my 22nd year in the Anchorage School District and my 16th year at Goldenview. And I'm testifying with you, uh, to you today on behalf of myself and on behalf of my amazing students. For the last 16 years, I've worked hard building the Goldenview Band Program into the largest music program in the state of Alaska. 2 Years ago, 6th graders were integrated into the middle schools, and I was blessed with an additional halftime band director to help teach the added 150+ students that were enrolled in my band program.
