Invitation to participate in this ad hoc committee when it was first proposed. It was first proposed, the idea of it, really right after I got sworn in, and I didn't have a whole lot of context about all of the work we'd been— we'd be engaging in, but was willing to participate. That said, the charter, the— with this duration in the charter concerns me. The deadline of having, of having to complete all of this work— I recognize it says unless extended by action of the Anchorage School Board— but having to complete all of this work by December 31st, recognizing we have holidays built in there and likely no work would be happening during that time, feels like a very short and unrealistic window by which to complete something of this magnitude that's focused on listening to the community, which to me feels like a very lengthy and should be purposefully slow and thoughtful process.
