Our residents deserve leadership that understands the weight of that. I cannot control anyone else's vote. I can't make sure my own vote reflects— I mean, I can make sure that my own vote reflects my judgment, my conscience, and my responsibility to this community. Based on what has been presented to me, I do not— I do not support terminating our city manager. To my fellow council members, before you make this decision, be prepared to explain how it leaves Whittier better off.
