In all of these grade levels, we have in-depth units that are part of our reading curriculum, and They start with the 5 senses down in kindergarten, and then they become more complex as we go on. Students will have anywhere between about 7 to 20, 25 hours of direct instruction in these topics as part of their language arts curriculum. The curriculum delves pretty deep into these concepts, relates them back to science, but the manner that in which that it's done is through English language arts. I know concerns have been raised, well, what if the students are not necessarily reading at grade level.
