The bills we are voting on will help families access affordable, quality healthcare. The Patients Deserve Price Tags Act, championed by Senators Marshall and Hickenlooper, will make pricing information more easily available, empowering patients to compare prices and to pick the highest quality affordable option for care. So a mother, say for example Lafayette, Louisiana, has a child with an earache, pulls out her phone and says, search 'urgent care center near me, which one has the best price?' And then she could go to that one, she could go to that one and save her the money that can be quite substantial because we've made this information available. The bill also gives employers access to their data, allowing them to develop innovative plan designs driving down cost and benefiting employees. The legislation is so important and something I've been touting as part of my money and value for patients or the MVP agenda to lower costs for health insurance for families.
