It would allow us to open positions for 50 FTE that could then be filled, recognizing that while it does prove a risk for the district, it also means that if the legislature were not to give us a single cent, we could technically cover that expense. And based off of the confidence from the legislature who have written to us and market data, It is, at least in my opinion— I won't speak on behalf of the rest of the board— likely that we will get some funding, though the amount we do not know. So that's the, um, the, the impetus for my original memo. And then, um, after circulating it, uh, there have been revisions to it, which I have welcomed.
