The Expedited Access to Biosimilars Act by Senator Paul increases market competition, lowers drug prices, and increases access to more life-saving treatments by eliminating costly and redundant clinical study requirements. The manager's amendment includes a policy from Senator Moody to eliminate government red tape that slows down FDA's review of biosimilars. The Insulin Act, sponsored by Senators Collins and Shaheen, caps how much patients pay for insulin, preserving access for the 40 million Americans with diabetes. And the National Plan for Epilepsy Act, led by Senators Schmidt and Klobuchar, will help the 3.4 million Americans living with epilepsy, improving research, diagnosis, care, and treatment. The Title VIII Nursing Workforce Reauthorization Act from Senators Collins and Merkley and the Empower for Health Act, Title VII, from Senators Murkowski and Reid strengthens the healthcare workforce, addressing shortages that limit families' access to care, especially in rural areas.
