Trump schedules Wasilla rally before Alaska general election
President Donald Trump is scheduled to come to Wasilla on Tuesday, Oct. 13, for a midterm rally at the Menard Memorial Sports Center, according to a Republican event listing.
Doors open at noon, the program begins at 2 pm and Trump's remarks begin at 3:30 pm, the listing says. Its disclosure says the rally is paid for by Trump 47 Committee Inc., a joint fundraising committee, and is not authorized by any candidate or candidate's committee. The listing names no other speakers.
The visit would bring Trump to Southcentral Alaska less than a month before the Nov. 3 general election. U.S. Sen. Dan Sullivan, former U.S. Rep. Mary Peltola, Gerald Heikes and Daniel J. Sullivan Jr. are on the U.S. Senate ballot.
The Wasilla rally follows a Fairbanks rally Vice President JD Vance held Monday for Sullivan, where he announced federal support for a Railbelt transmission project.
Trump has also recently weighed in on Alaska's U.S. House race. He released a video urging Alaskans to reelect Rep. Nick Begich and criticizing independent challenger Bill Hill.
