TCC hands its lobbying reins to a familiar face: Joy Huntington
TCC's new government affairs director already knows the building — Joy Huntington used to be the consortium's lobbyist in Juneau.
Tanana Chiefs Conference has a new Director of Government Affairs — and she already knows the building. The Interior tribal consortium named Joy Huntington to the role Monday, putting her in charge of the advocacy that carries its member tribes' priorities to lawmakers.
Huntington isn't new to that fight. She previously served as TCC's lobbyist in Juneau and brings more than two decades in government relations, strategic communications, and tribal advocacy — work that began in tribal environmental, housing, and cultural programs before she founded her own statewide firm.
In announcing the hire, TCC's Amanda Tritt noted Huntington had already served the consortium as its lobbyist, "successfully leading advocacy efforts in Juneau on behalf of our member tribes."

The consortium's annual Youth Summit drew young people from across the Interior for traditional skills and safety training last weekend; we wrote about it separately.
And a reminder worth repeating: in Alaska, there's no waiting period to report a missing person. Reporting early gives searchers more time to act.
