Peltola out-raises Sullivan, who still has more cash banked

The money in Alaska's U.S. Senate race points two directions at once. Mary Peltola is raising far more this cycle; Sen. Dan Sullivan has far more already in the bank.

Peltola's campaign reported $7 million in the second quarter and more than $15 million for the year from nearly 140,000 donors. Sullivan has raised under $4 million in 2026, but sits on roughly $10 million accumulated across 12 years in office — a reserve Peltola's cycle totals have not closed. His campaign has booked $2.2 million in television, radio, and streaming ads through the Aug. 18 primary.

The two campaigns draw from different donor pools. About 95 percent of Peltola's second-quarter contributions were $100 or less, averaging near $50. Peltola has characterized Sullivan's money as coming from corporate interests, CEOs, and the Seattle trawl fleet; his campaign did not respond to that characterization, and the underlying donor breakdown was not independently verified for this article.

Outside groups are also spending. Peltola says several Washington super PACs are funding attacks against her. Last Frontier PAC had spent about $1.9 million as of early July, some of it opposing her.
