Mental Health Trust Land Office takes bids on 45 parcels through Nov. 16
The Alaska Mental Health Trust Land Office opened bidding Aug. 12 on 45 parcels across Interior, Southcentral and Southeast Alaska. Sealed bids are due by 4:30 pm Nov. 16 and will be opened Nov. 18 at 10 am at the Anchorage office.
Proceeds go into the Mental Health Trust Fund. The fund's earnings support programs for Alaskans with mental illness, developmental disabilities, addiction, Alzheimer's disease, dementia or traumatic brain injuries. Land sales and land use have generated more than half the land office's revenue since it began.
Executive Director Jusdi Warner said the parcels are "both on and off the road system, as well as some waterfront offerings." All lots sell as-is and where-is, and the office urges bidders to inspect them in person before bidding.
Winners may pay a lump sum or qualify for land office financing at prime plus 3% under state law, which stood at 9.75% as of Sept. 1. Details are available on the Fall Land Sale Auction page.
