Mat-Su school district hiring nutrition workers at Wasilla job fair July 13

The Matanuska-Susitna Borough School District is holding a walk-in hiring event Monday, July 13, for nutrition services workers, with more than 20 vacant positions to fill, ranging from kitchen aides to kitchen managers.

The fair runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Mat-Su Job Center, 877 W. Commercial Drive in Wasilla. No appointment is needed. On-site applications and interviews will be conducted the same day. Permanent positions start at $17.83 per hour; substitute roles pay $15.00 per hour.

The district is pitching the jobs directly at parents. "Work while your kids are in school, have evenings, weekends, holidays, and school breaks off," the district said in recruitment materials. The positions may also appeal to those looking to return to work or earn extra income on a family-friendly schedule.
