Left lane closed both ways on West Tudor Road through Sunday

Drivers on West Tudor Road near Cambridge Way are down one left lane in each direction through Sunday morning while crews patch asphalt.

The closure took effect Thursday at 9:33 a.m. and is scheduled to lift Sunday, Sept. 6, at 9:34 a.m. Alaska 511 lists the work as active around the clock through Sunday, with no full closure planned. "Crew working please use caution," the posting said.

The stretch has seen repeated restrictions this summer. Alaska DOT&PF closed a left westbound lane between Harrison Street and Minnesota Drive for drainage maintenance starting July 17, scheduled to end Aug. 31. A separate left-lane closure near Harrison Street ran from Aug. 24 to Aug. 31.

The department's Tudor-Muldoon corridor page reports higher-than-average crash rates and public input calling for a lower speed limit. Corridor materials note that residents and commuters want the road's safety and congestion problems addressed beyond short-term patching.
