Fairbanks gathering honors victims of unsolved homicides
A gathering of remembrance took place May 5 at Golden Heart Plaza in Fairbanks to honor victims of unsolved homicides.
Fairbanks Native Association, Doyon Limited, Dinakanaga, Interior Regional Housing Authority, the City of Fairbanks, and the Fairbanks North Star Borough organized the event. Community members gathered in prayer, remembrance, and advocacy, lifting up the names and stories of loved ones who continue to be deeply missed.
Alyana Mandragon, a Tanana Chiefs Conference emerging leader and patient registration worker, said the event honored lives of those lost, including victims of unsolved homicides, and created a space for reflection, healing, and unity. She spoke on TCC Weekly.
