Written Protest Deadline - Marijuana License Transfer Application
About this event
The Alaska Alcohol & Marijuana Control Office (AMCO) has issued a notice regarding the transfer of a retail marijuana store license (License #10252) located at 3231 Spenard Road, Unit 1, Anchorage. The transfer involves moving the license from the current owner, Popeyes Emporium II, LLC (Mark Magno and Terry Daet), to the transferee, Smoking Joe’s Terps Co, doing business as House of Nugz, with Jacob Thom as the sole owner.
The notice informs the Municipality of Anchorage of the application, which is required under 3 AAC 306.045(c)(2). The Municipality has 60 days from the date of the notice to file a protest if it chooses to do so. The application was scheduled for review by the Marijuana Control Board during their meeting on September 2-3, 2026.
AMCO notes that the board will deny the application if the establishment is prohibited by local zoning ordinances or if the local government files a valid protest. The notice was signed by AMCO Director Kevin Richard.
