Western Alaska CDQ Program Information Collection Public Comment Period
About this event
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has submitted a request to the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) to extend the information collection authority for the Western Alaska Community Development Quota (CDQ) Program. This program, authorized under the Magnuson-Stevens Fishery Conservation and Management Act, supports economic development in western Alaska by allowing eligible villages to participate in Bering Sea and Aleutian Islands fisheries.
The information collection, identified by OMB Control Number 0648-0269, involves four primary components: the CDQ Vessel Registration System, Groundfish/Halibut CDQ and Prohibited Species Quota (PSQ) transfer requests, applications for the use of non-CDQ harvest regulations, and an appeals process for adverse administrative determinations. The agency estimates a total annual burden of 36 hours across six respondents.
Public comments were previously solicited on March 16, 2026. This notice initiates an additional 30-day comment period for the public to provide feedback on the collection requirements. Comments must be submitted via the reginfo.gov portal.
