Petersville Trails & Rescue Center (Ground Breaking Phase III) - Public Comment Deadline

The Petersville Community NPC has submitted a grant application to the Alaska Recreational Trails Program (RTP) for the 'Ground Breaking Phase III' of the Petersville Trails & Rescue Center. The project involves the construction of a heated facility designed to house, maintain, and protect essential trail grooming and search and rescue equipment. This infrastructure is intended to improve the reliability of trail maintenance and support public access and emergency operations within the Petersville trail system. The proposed project is scheduled to begin on June 20, 2027, and conclude on November 20, 2027. The Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities has issued a public notice regarding the application, which was posted online on September 24, 2026. Members of the public are invited to submit comments or opposition regarding the grant application. The deadline for submitting public feedback is October 19, 2026.
