Local Government Protest Period for Mary Jane's Cannabis Emporium License Renewal

The Alaska Alcohol & Marijuana Control Office (AMCO) has deemed the renewal application for Mary Jane’s Cannabis Emporium (License #18117) complete. The business, operated by 2KT, Inc. and designated licensee Kerry Teekell, is located at 8857 Jewel Lake Road, Suite B, in Anchorage. The application covers the 2026-2028 biennial license period. Following the determination of completeness, the application has been forwarded to the Municipality of Anchorage and the Sand Lake Community Council. The Municipality of Anchorage has a 60-day window to file a formal protest against the renewal. Under state regulations, the Marijuana Control Board will uphold a local government protest unless it is found to be arbitrary, capricious, or unreasonable. While the AMCO Director has delegated authority to approve renewal applications that lack protests, objections, or notices of violation, the Marijuana Control Board is required to review the application independently if any of those conditions are met. If the application proceeds without issue, the 2026/2027 license will be issued during the annual inspection.
