Deadline to Protest Alcohol License Renewals

About this event

The Anchorage Municipal Clerk has submitted Assembly Memorandum AM 639-2026 to the Assembly for the 2026-2027 renewal of five alcohol licenses. The establishments include Hacienda Mexican Restaurant, Serrano’s Mexican Grill, Eddie’s Sports Bar, Al’s Alaskan Inn and Hideout Lounge, and Hearth Artisan Pizza. The memorandum confirms that there are no outstanding taxes and that the Anchorage Police Department has no objections to the renewals. Certifications have been received from the Anchorage Health Department, Anchorage Fire Department, Land Use Enforcement, and the Building Safety Official. The memorandum notes that all listed establishments have the required special land use permits under Anchorage Municipal Code 21.03.040C.4.a and 21.03.040C.4.b. Under Alaska Statute 04.11.480, the Assembly has until October 19, 2026, to protest these renewals. Approval of this memorandum effectively waives the Assembly's right to protest, authorizing the Municipal Clerk to notify the Alaska Alcohol and Marijuana Control Office (AMCO) of the decision.
