Anchorage Assembly Protest Deadline - Alcohol License Renewals

About this event

The Anchorage Municipal Clerk has submitted Assembly Memorandum No. AM 639-2026 to address the 2026-2027 alcohol license renewals for five local businesses. The establishments include Hacienda Mexican Restaurant, Serrano’s Mexican Grill, Eddie’s Sports Bar, Al’s Alaskan Inn and Hideout Lounge, and Hearth Artisan Pizza. The applications were received from the Alaska Alcohol and Marijuana Control Office (AMCO) on or after August 14, 2026. According to the memorandum, there are no outstanding taxes for these establishments. Furthermore, the Anchorage Police Department reported no comments, and necessary certifications have been obtained from the Anchorage Health Department, Anchorage Fire Department, Land Use Enforcement, and the Building Safety Official. The memorandum notes that all listed establishments have the required special land use permits under Anchorage Municipal Code 21.03.040C. Under Alaska Statute 04.11.480, the Assembly has the authority to protest these renewals within 60 days of receiving the applications, with the deadline set for October 19, 2026. Because the October 6, 2026, meeting is the final scheduled regular Assembly meeting before that deadline, the memorandum seeks approval to waive the right to protest, authorizing the Municipal Clerk to notify AMCO of the decision.
