Alaska Advisory Committee Public Briefing - Panel III: Ranked Choice Voting and Equal Access to the Electoral Process

The Alaska Advisory Committee to the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights has announced a series of four public briefings to be held via Zoom. The primary objective of these sessions is to collect testimony regarding the impact of ranked choice voting on equal access to the electoral process in Alaska. The briefings are scheduled for August 26, August 28, September 29, and October 1, 2026. Each session will be accessible to the public through specific registration links provided by the Commission, with options for audio-only participation via a toll-free number. Members of the public are invited to attend and will be provided an opportunity to make statements during an open comment period. Additionally, written comments may be submitted to the Designated Federal Officer, Kayla Fajota, within 30 days following each meeting. Records of the proceedings will be made available through the Commission's file-sharing portal and the FACA database.
