NIH awarded $4.4 million to Anchorage firm without competition

The National Institutes of Health awarded $4.4 million in facility work to an Anchorage firm without competing it, according to award records on USAspending.gov. Both orders to Treon Support Services JV, LLC are recorded as not competed.

The records cite FAR 6.302-1, which lets an agency skip competition when only one source can meet a requirement. USASpending lists Treon as an Alaska Native Corporation owned firm. Both are orders under a contract Treon has held since 2024.

Treon is listed for $2,850,180 in preventive maintenance under contract 75N99026F00009, covering Sept. 19, 2026, through Sept. 18, 2027, a period that has not yet begun. The second, 75N99026F00010, is a $1,579,597 design-build contract for evaluation, fabrication, installation, testing and commissioning of new work platforms and a trolley crane system in Building 11; its performance period began Aug. 31 and runs through Jan. 7, 2028.

Both Building 11 descriptions end with the same project reference. Earlier NIH awards to Anchorage's Olgoonik General, LLC carried the same reference, including a $20,189 turbine commissioning order in August. Records mark that order authorized by statute under the 8(a) program.
