Anchorage awarded seven midsize contracts worth $1.68 million in September, report says
Anchorage awarded seven competitive contracts worth about $1.68 million in September, according to a report Mayor Suzanne LaFrance submitted for the Anchorage Assembly meeting Tuesday, Oct. 20.
City code requires a monthly list of competitive awards between $50,000 and $500,000. Those awards are reported this way rather than through individual Assembly votes, after the Assembly voted last year to review fewer city contracts. August's report listed 14 awards, including a $450,000 concrete job.
Northern Gravel & Trucking LLC won the largest September award: up to $390,000 for as-needed grader services for Maintenance and Operations through Oct. 10, 2027, with an option for two more one-year terms. Anchorage Sand & Gravel won two awards: $319,200 in washed sand for Maintenance and Operations and $268,750 in crushed recycled asphalt for the Chugiak-Birchwood-Eagle River road service area.
The Information Technology Department awarded World Wide Technology about $326,000 for a Veeam software renewal and Digital Securus LLC about $194,000 for Darktrace identity and network services through September 2027. Anchorage police awarded Nodak $118,516 for Ted Smith Shooting Range backstops. The Public Transportation Department awarded VSG about $68,000 for a four-post vehicle lift, delivered Sept. 9.
A separate report lists three sole-source purchases totaling about $64,000, which city code says do not require Assembly approval: $17,525 to Udelhoven Oilfield System Services for POL2 hose hydro testing, $16,400 to Euna for a grant-management subscription and $30,250 to Isle Inc. for an AWWU TAG+ membership.
