Alaska's public CourtView goes offline for 12.5 hours starting Aug. 3

Access down for 12.5 hours

Anyone who checks an Alaska trial court case online will lose that access for 12.5 hours next week. "Public CourtView will be unavailable from 7:30 p.m. August 3 to 8:00 a.m. August 4 for system maintenance," the Alaska Court System said in a public notice filed July 25 on Alaska Online Public Notices.

CourtView is the trial courts' case management system for non-confidential cases. Users search it by party name or case number. Small business owners tracking collections cases, litigants confirming hearing dates and municipal staff rely on it. Anchorage tells defendants to look up case status in CourtView or contact the Anchorage courthouse at 825 W. Fourth Ave.

The notice says online access to public records will be unavailable during the window. New filings and internal court operations will not be affected.

What to do in the meantime

Users who need case information can call or visit a court location during its operating hours. Others can wait until the maintenance window ends at 8 a.m. and online access resumes. Most court locations remain open during normal business hours. The outage runs overnight and into the early morning, so many routine users may see little disruption.
