Alaska 511 logs new wildfire investigation labeled EAGLE

Alaska 511 opened a new wildfire investigation near Eagle on Thursday afternoon. The agency logged the fire as incident 27369, discovered at 1:46 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 13, 2026, and listed it at 0.00 acres.

The record was last updated at 5:53 p.m. the same day. It still showed 0.00 acres and a status of "Fire Investigation."

The card lists coordinates of 58.5293, -134.8231. Alaska 511 has not confirmed those coordinates are near the community of Eagle.

The 511 record reports no cause, no threatened structures, no evacuation status and no containment figure. Confirmation on cause, threats, evacuations or containment would come from the Alaska Department of Natural Resources, the Alaska Fire Service or the Department of Public Safety.

Fire crews have worked the Eagle area earlier this season. The Corral Fire has been contained and extinguished. The Kathul Fire, about 55 miles northwest of Eagle, remains under investigation.
