Alaska Fish and Game is moving its 2027 sport fishing photo contest online only, with entries due Oct. 31 through a new SurveyMonkey form instead of mailed prints.

Online-Only Submission Replaces Mailed Photos

Anglers who want a photo on next year's regulations book have to send it through an online form, and nothing else will count. The Alaska Department of Fish and Game's Division of Sport Fish has opened the 2027 Sport Fishing Regulations Cover Photo Contest with entries accepted entirely online for the first time, through a new SurveyMonkey submission page. Photos are due by 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31, 2026.

Entry Rules

Entrants may submit up to three photos taken in Alaska within the last two years; screenshots are not accepted. Consent releases are completed inside the submission system, and when several children appear in one photo, each child's parent or guardian signs a separate form. Photos showing unsafe or unethical practices, violations, or advertisements will be rejected. Selected images run on the covers and inside pages of the four regional summary books.
