A Big Lake man was killed in Houston. A 72-year-old faces murder charges.

A Big Lake man was shot and killed in Houston on Monday night, and a 72-year-old Houston man has been charged with his murder.

Alaska State Troopers responded to a report of a shooting shortly after 9 pm on Sept. 14 and found Devin Blawat, 43, dead of a gunshot wound. Troopers arrested Michael Pulliam and booked him into Mat-Su Pretrial on charges of second-degree murder, manslaughter and two counts of assault.

The assault charges involve a second person who survived. Troopers have not identified that person or described what happened to them.

The Southcentral Major Crimes Unit has taken over the investigation, which troopers say is continuing. Blawat's next of kin have been notified.

The charges against Pulliam are accusations. He is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty, and no defense attorney was listed on the court calendar for his arraignment.
