Cultural Ambassadors Prepare for 2025 Tourism Season

The Cultural Ambassador Program is really unique because it's an opportunity for Tlingit and Haida to assert our tribal sovereignty, to amplify access to resources and capital in the whole Juneau area. It's more than just a cultural interpretive program. It's also like an economic stimulus. Our people have been out at the Mendenhall Glacier Recreation Area since time immemorial, and so there's nothing new for us to have physical presence there. What's new for us is that we're creating a brand new career pathway for our tribal citizens that starts from youth and goes all the way up until our elders.
