We know that— I don't know if people saw the opinion piece that Mayor LaFrance of Anchorage and Mayor Hopkins of Fairbanks had in the ADN a couple days ago, talking about the fact that if the local property tax valuation goes up, then the state contribution goes down.
The Cordova City Council discussed Thursday whether to raise the property tax mill rate to fund a $181,000 school district budget increase or use $610,749 in federal Secure Rural Schools money, with a decision required by June 3.
