TCC splits health services into two executive director roles
Patient care and administrative operations for Interior Alaska's tribal communities will be managed under separate leadership after Tanana Chiefs Conference divided its Health Services executive structure Tuesday, appointing two directors where one role previously existed.
Jacoline Bergstrom was appointed Executive Director of Health Administrative Services, where she will focus on healthcare advocacy, strategic partnerships, administrative leadership, and health finance strategy. Marilyn Andon was appointed Executive Director of Clinical Health Services. Andon had most recently served as Acting Director of Clinical Services and will lead daily operations and patient care improvements in her new role. Both positions report directly to the Chief Administrative Officer.
Tanana Chiefs Conference described the realignment as a response to sustained expansion. "Over the past several years, Health Services has experienced significant growth and increasing complexity," the organization said in its announcement. "To better support strategic priorities, strengthen operational leadership, and continue advancing quality patient care, TCC has established two executive director positions." TCC also framed the restructuring as an effort to meet the evolving healthcare needs of the region and build a sustainable leadership structure that supports staff, patients, and communities while advancing the organization's vision of Healthy, Strong, Unified Tribes.
The restructuring does not stop at the executive level. TCC plans to recruit two additional deputy directors to further expand leadership capacity beneath Bergstrom and Andon, signaling an ongoing reorganization rather than a single personnel move.
