Skinny Raven Half Marathon and 10K set for Anchorage on July 19

The Skinny Raven Half & 10K is scheduled for Sunday, July 19, starting and finishing at the Centennial Rose Garden on the Delaney Park Strip in downtown Anchorage. The race offers two distances, in-person and virtual options, and a shared start-finish location that makes it easy for spectators to follow.

The in-person half marathon has an early start at 8 a.m. and a main start at 9 a.m. The 10K starts at 9:20 a.m.

Skinny Raven's event page says runners will use some of Anchorage's popular trails and may get views of Denali.

The race is built for broad participation: a downtown-adjacent start, two distances, virtual options running July 12 through July 19, and an age minimum of 13 for listed RunSignup events.

Because the start and finish are in the same place, families and first-time race spectators can watch from a single spot. Organizers say Bike Anchorage will provide a free bike valet for people who want to ride rather than park.

Registration pages list in-person and virtual options for both the half marathon and the 10K. Prices were set to increase after July 17 at 11:59 p.m. Alaska time.

Skinny Raven says all participants, in-person and virtual, receive event swag: a long-sleeve tech shirt, a finisher medal for their distance, and a finisher glass. In-person participants also receive a box lunch after the race.
