Richardson Hwy closed both directions at MP 210 after crash

A motor vehicle crash has closed the Richardson Highway in both directions at milepost 210, the Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities reported Sunday in an official Alaska 511 alert. The closure is in effect until further notice.

The alert covers the Delta, Fairbanks, Mat-Su, and Tok regions. The closure began at 18:21 UTC on June 28, 2026.

Travelers should check Alaska 511 at 511.alaska.gov before attempting the route.

The Richardson has seen repeated closures in this corridor. In February, DOT&PF closed the highway between MP 218 and MP 234 after avalanche debris blocked the road. At the time, the department posted: "Crews are currently working on clearing the road and will provide updates as the work progresses."
