Left lane closed on W Tudor Rd westbound through August 31 for drainage work

The left lane on W Tudor Road westbound, between Harrison Street and Minnesota Drive, is closed through August 31 for drainage maintenance. Alaska 511 classifies the restriction as a major traffic event.

The Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities began the closure July 17. It runs 24 hours a day, seven days a week, with no scheduled breaks.

Motorists heading toward Minnesota Drive should plan for reduced capacity through the work zone for the duration of the project.

This is not the first time the segment has carried a lane restriction. Alaska 511 records show a left-lane closure for road maintenance on the same westbound stretch, also between Harrison Street and Minnesota Drive, ran from April 23 through June 30 this year. The current drainage project began less than three weeks after that earlier closure ended.
