Left lane closed on inbound Glenn Highway near mile 27 for guardrail repairs

Drivers heading into Anchorage on the Glenn Highway are losing a lane for an eight-hour window Monday while crews repair guardrail and fencing.

The Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities closed the left inbound lane between mile marker 27 and mile marker 26 at 8:30 a.m. for the repair work, according to the Alaska 511 traffic event card. The closure is scheduled to lift at 4:30 p.m. the same day.

Alaska 511 classified the work as minor in severity, and the highway is not fully closed. The event was last updated at 8:58 a.m., and Alaska 511 logged it as roadwork for guardrail and fencing repair.

Crews worked the same stretch earlier this summer. An Alaska News article on that closure noted DOT&PF shut the right inbound lane between mile 27 and mile 26 on June 25, also from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., for guardrail and fencing repair.
