Homer-area man arrested for driving under court order barring him from the road

A Homer-area man was arrested Friday after troopers caught him driving in violation of a court order barring him from operating any motor vehicle.

Troopers from the Anchor Point post recognized a vehicle in Homer as belonging to a man known to be under conditions of release prohibiting him from driving. When troopers caught up to the vehicle, it was traveling above the posted speed limit. They confirmed the man was the driver and took him into custody.

He was booked into Homer Jail on one count of violating his conditions of release. The underlying case that produced the no-motor-vehicle condition was not detailed in the trooper dispatch and would require further reporting.

Charges reported in Alaska State Troopers dispatches are accusations. The man is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
