K-9 alert leads to cocaine seizure, MICS 5 charge on Glenn Highway

Alaska State Troopers arrested a 65-year-old Glennallen woman, Suzanne Craig, on an outstanding warrant near mile 187 of the Glenn Highway. A K-9 alert on her vehicle led to a search that turned up cocaine, and she now faces a fifth-degree charge of misconduct involving a controlled substance.

A trooper located Craig about 6 p.m. on July 11 and arrested her on the warrant, according to an Alaska State Troopers dispatch posted Friday. Village Public Safety Officer K-9 Debo then sniffed the vehicle. After a positive indication for narcotics, troopers seized the vehicle and executed a search warrant. Cocaine was recovered.

The charge is an accusation, and Craig is presumed innocent unless proven guilty, the dispatch said.

The warrant traced back to a June 9 drug report in Glennallen. Troopers identified Craig as possessing about 3.2 grams of methamphetamine and obtained a warrant on the same fifth-degree charge, according to an earlier trooper dispatch. She was held on $250 bail.
