Fairbanks organizations host Elders Day of Caring on July 13

Alaska Native Elders in the Fairbanks area can request household help, and volunteers are being recruited ahead of the annual Elders Day of Caring on July 13 in Fairbanks. Tanana Chiefs Conference, Denakkanaaga, Interior Regional Housing Authority, Doyon, Limited, Fairbanks Native Association, and other community partners are co-hosting the event. Volunteer teams will assist Alaska Native Elders with projects including yard work, painting, household organization, technology assistance, and safety improvements. Volunteer opportunities are available in two-, four- and six-hour shifts.
