Fairbanks man faces bench warrant for sex offender registry address violation

A bench warrant was issued July 6 for Robert Mayo, 66, of Fairbanks, after investigators found he was not living at the address listed on his sex offender registration paperwork.

The Alaska Department of Public Safety said Mayo was out of compliance with his Sex Offender Registry paperwork and also in violation of conditions of release tied to a separate criminal matter. DPS said it will request an additional arrest warrant beyond the bench warrant already issued.

Charges are accusations. Mayo is presumed innocent unless proven guilty. DPS has not said when it will file the additional warrant request.
