Fairbanks man arrested for DUI, weapons charge after REDDI report on Steese Highway

A Fairbanks man faces DUI, weapons, and release-violation charges after a citizen reported his truck weaving on the Steese Highway Tuesday.

Alaska State Troopers received a REDDI report of a grey Chevrolet Silverado unable to maintain its lane. They located the truck and its driver at a residence on the Old Steese Highway. A Fairbanks man, 30, was arrested on charges of DUI, refusal to submit to a chemical test, Misconduct Involving Weapons, and two counts of Violating Conditions of Release.

Troopers say the REDDI program lets the public report suspected impaired or dangerous drivers so they can investigate and keep Alaska roadways safe. "The Alaska State Troopers encourage members of the public to utilize the REDDI (Report Every Dangerous Driver Immediately) program to report suspected impaired or dangerous driving so troopers can respond and investigate to keep Alaska's roadways safe."

All charges are accusations. The man is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
