The first Tlingit opera in recorded history, "Ḵutulagaaw: The Tlingit-Russian Battles," tells the story of the 1802-1804 Tlingit-Russian War from the Tlingit perspective. Performances run September 11-20 with evening shows Friday and Saturday and afternoon shows on Sunday, performed in the Tlingit language with a score grounded in Tlingit musical and performing arts traditions.
