Discovery Hike at Denali National Park & Preserve

When: Monday, September 7, 2026 at 7:30 AM AKDT (local time) Where: Denali National Park & Preserve Fee: While the ranger-led hike itself is free, most hikes require a Discovery Hike bus ticket ($33.50). Instructions on how to purchase this bus ticket will be provided after you have signed up for the hike. Registration required. Timing: This is an all-day hike. The exact ending time varies, but if you sign up for a discovery hike, you should make sure to not have any other plans scheduled until after 7 pm. What: Discovery Hikes are challenging, off-trail hikes led by park rangers. They are a great way for the adventurous and well-prepared to explore the heart of Denali! These hikes travel everywhere, so expect uneven terrain, water crossings, close encounters with dense vegetation, and unpredictable weather. During the registration process, rangers at the visitor center will provide details about upcoming hikes, including the approximate distance and elevation gain.
