Two Anchorage Airport Boarding Bridges Set for Replacement

Two passenger boarding bridges at Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport are slated for replacement under a federally funded design-build contract, with proposals due before 4 p.m. on August 13.

The Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities, Central Region, is seeking design and construction services for the bridges at Gate N1 in the North Terminal and Gate C3 in the South Terminal. The engineer's estimate is between $2.5 million and $5 million. "The Project completion date will be December 31, 2028," the notice says.

The airport's 2026-2028 capital plan lists boarding bridge replacements at N1 and C3 along with C5, C7 and B6. A 2025 solicitation sought the same work at Gates N3 and N5 in the same cost range.

At the department's advertising-schedule update on July 20, Luke Boland said the project had received environmental clearances and required no utility agreements.
