Alaska public libraries can apply for FY27 internet cost grants
Alaska public libraries have until August 31 to apply for state help covering internet costs, with awards available to every eligible library in the state without competition.
The Alaska State Library has opened its FY27 Online With Libraries Internet Cost Assistance Program. The grant cycle runs July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2027, with a final report due July 31, 2027.
Who It Helps
The grant is open to all Alaska public libraries that meet the eligibility requirements for the Public Library Assistance grant. The program is non-competitive, meaning libraries that qualify can apply without competing against one another for a limited pool of awards. Receipt of E-Rate funding is not required.
Program Background
The Alaska State Library describes the program as providing "supplementary funding for internet connectivity costs to public libraries in Alaska" as part of the broader Online With Libraries program it administers.
How to Apply
The Alaska State Library will host three informational Zoom sessions for libraries with questions. Libraries are encouraged to register for one of the sessions:
July 2 at 9 a.m.
July 7 at 10 a.m.
July 15 at 2 p.m.
The application and more information are available on the OWL Funding Programs webpage at lam.alaska.gov/owl/funding-opportunities. Applications and questions go to [email protected] or 907-465-2921.
