Whittier Fish & Game Committee to Review State Bills, Federal Proposal

The Whittier Fish and Game Advisory Committee will meet April 16 at 6 p.m. via Zoom to discuss draft letters on two state bills and a federal subsistence proposal.

The committee will review draft comments on House Bills 93 and 203, a federal proposal regarding deer hunting on Hawkins and Hinchinbrook Islands, and four Board of Fisheries proposals scheduled for a May 1 special session. The meeting is open to the public.

Advisory committees are local groups that develop regulatory proposals and provide recommendations to the Alaska Board of Fisheries and Alaska Board of Game. The committees also serve as forums for discussing fish and wildlife conservation and habitat issues.
